New Year, Firework and Community

Today 2nd January of 2011, second day of 2011 and this is first entry in 2011.

This New Year Eve is a little bit different for me. usually we spend new year eve with my bro and mom with my lovely car "si Merah" and go to the toll road near Ancol just to see firework. But since "si Merah" is being repaired and not finish yet until New Year Eve so why don't we try spend new year in my brother's little apartment in Cengkareng called City Park.

well, i prefer called it "Rusunami" than apartment since it is not as luxury as people imagine about apartment. It only have Lift, swimming pool and little garden. but the sucks is about parking lot. when you come @8:00 PM you will struggle to find any available parking lot.

Now back to New Year Eve, i started with having dinner the 3 of us near this apartment, about 10:00 PM. when we have our dinner some people play with their sophisticated firework. it is nice to see the colour of firework and sometimes it is shocking when it make big noisy noise. we sit there more then 30-40 minutes. usually i only take 5-10 minutes to finish my food but this time we just sit there and watching the fireworks.

We see some of them bring dozens of fireworks to celebrate new year eve, maybe they are the "toke" of this shopping arcade. the while my brother sit, i go to the nearest minimarket and shop several of our need in this new year like some cola, milk, bread and little snacks. about 11:00 PM on the last day of 2010, we decide to go back to apartment and go to the rooftop of it. unfortunately, the distance which is only about 500 meter take almost 30 minutes by motorcycle to reach the apartment. so many people in this shopping arcade and also the road. more than thousands of them gathering in this area just to see the firework.

We finally reach apartment and go the rooftop when others already on there to see the firework from all over Jakarta Barat. it is 12 story building so the roof will be at 13th floor. high enough to see many places and so much colourful firework. in the mid of the night the more craziest firework play by them. some of them just make round firework and some make snake-like firework. really nice spending this new year eve from here.

Now we go to other side of the story where i open my facebook and see some of my friends status and comments. more/less their status is about this :

1. making firework = burning money

2. firework make my baby scared

3. complain about the calendar of masehi

4. celebrating the new year eve.

point 4 maybe no need to be discuss since almost everyone around the world is celebrating this new year day.

point 1. from my experience above which i told you, i think it is not wise to judge this people who celebrate their new year with all this firework. they make people happy and forget about their misery life -_* . if you said these people just burning their money for useless things please think again about these :

- people who smoke while they make others around them also sick they also burning their money

- people who have to go to have vacation abroad just to shop while they can have all the goods with cheaper price nearby.

- people who go to the cinema while they can enjoy watching movie in their laptop or rent DVD

- people who buy tickets to the soccer game while they can watch on TV. this one is the crazy one since some people spent 7 hours just to watch 2 hours game. :-)

So i guess it is more like a Hobby and not about hedonisme when some people put fireworks in your place. they only celebrating leaving the old year and welcoming new year. some of us have hedonisme side in our life like when celebrating new promotion, new job, new house, new girlfriend :)) with all the small party. so let's broaden a little our horizon.

I know some of you use religion state about these. but when time where no people asking for "sedekah" come maybe you need something positive to spend your money. even now, you can make those poor and needed people happy just by making these firework. if you use the side of religion "MUBAZIR" then let's see the side "MANFAAT".

now go to point 2, i really feel emphaty about this. i know i don't have baby, how come i never try to make one :P but this is a necessary thing to avoid. you have to see your neighbour if they have a baby or not. i feel sorry for this happens to some of our friends. that's why government usually localize the centre of crowded in new year eve in some places like ancol or monas. if you bring the baby to those places and then you complaining about this then ask yourself "whose fault is this?" . but if what happen is your neighbour play firework that make your baby scared then these questions should come to your neighbour

- Is your neighbor aware about your baby ?

- Do they undestand about baby since i don't really understand :-)

- Do they have any heart ? :(

The solution is wether you talk to your neighbor about this or you move a little to a distance place that your baby can feel a little bit safer.

point 3, a never ending discussion :) i know about pagan calendar and their culture. i also read several point of calendar masehi and calendar hijrah. now let us see from this point, there are 2 salesman. 1 a very good salesman and the second one is a bad salesman.

a very good sales given a bad quality product to be sold while the bad one given the best quality product to be sold. after some times, the market full of this bad quality product and only some use the best quality product. from these poin we should understand why customer choose

bad quality products. because it fit their need and the salesman they can trust. the salesman here didn't mean about the prophets of those religion. mohammad is a good salesman since in his time he can expand islamic way of life to many places while on contrary christ at the end of his life only province of romans ruled by herod know about his name. this place called palestine nowadays.

Salesman i talk in here is people after them. could you show respect and trustful about yourself so customer can trust you. i rarely find these nowadays in moslem society while in other society we can find this. we haven't discuss about lunar calendar, moon calendar or arithmetic calendar like the one used by chinese since it become to long in this blog. maybe next time we will discuss this.

at the end i'd like to say "Happy New Year" and may this year we are all can be a better person.
